Automatic Internal Linking in WordPress, a Plugin: ntrnllnk
Published on Oct 27, 2026, filed under tools, misc, optimization. (Share this post, e.g., on Mastodon.)
Contributing to a large-scale WordPress site that needed to improve internal linking but had to do so automatically, I built a configurable plugin that can add relevant in-content links as well as related posts:
ntrnllnk (pronounced “internal link” unless you want to goof around; source code) is a dependable solution to improve user experience and SEO through automated internal linking.

ntrnllnk leans on the quality side (unless you configure it differently) and can handle blogs with several thousand entries (when you can still go a lot further if you turn off related posts).
The documentation has more details.
As always, if this work is useful for you or your organization, consider co-sponsoring me. While it’s my call to invest in providing tools such as ntrnllnk, community support helps me to sustain the work and to provide even greater value. Cheers!
